Judith “Judy” Tobin (aka Judy-bear) is one of the main characters in The Great North and the only daughter of Beef Tobin. She is the third child in the family, younger sister of Wolf, the younger “Alaskan twin” of Ham, and older sister of Moon.

Appearance[]

Judy is a sixteen-year-old girl with pale skin, short blonde hair, freckles, braces, blonde eyebrows, and a thin neck. Her overall appearance and demeanor is really cheerful.

She wears a light blue sweater, green leggings with white polka dots, and brown boots. When she is outside she wears a dark blue coat.

Disinvited

When Judy was younger and friends with Stacy B she would wear her hair up in a sidetail as well as more colors, but now she no longer ties it.

Personality[]

Judy is artistic and creative. She cares greatly about her family and encourages them to get out of their comfort zones and helps them when they’re in a slump. She loves writing articles about new people and romance.

However she has a darker side to her, such as becoming angry at Ham when he secretly became the Cakelady of Lone Moose in “Feast of Not People Adventure”. She also becomes cruel and demeaning whenever she participates in curling as seen in “Curl Interrupted Adventure”.

Judy self-conscious about her hirsute hoofs

Judy mentions in Enough Bed Adventure how she is self-conscious about her "hirsute hoofs" (hairy feet) when she is made a Norbit (Hobbit parody) in Ham's story. Ham admits to knowing this, and may have told the story this way intentionally to throw her off her storytelling game.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Beef Tobin[]

Judy is close with her father. They often spend time together and enjoy doing so.

Kathleen Tobin[]

Like her brothers, Judy has a negative opinion of her mother and is glad that she left. Unbeknownst to her, Kathleen leaving scarred her from entering a relationship for four years after she left.

Wolf Tobin[]

As well all her brothers, Judy is close to Wolf.

Ham Tobin[]

Out of all her brothers, Judy is closest to Ham. They are completely in sync and often spend time together. They have a rather long secret handshake and refer to each other as “Alaskan twins”, meaning they were born close together, only 9 months apart. In Pride and Prejudice Adventure, Judy is mad at Ham for kissing her date , Crispin Cienfuegos, at the Thomas Wintersbone dance, but after learning about the true life of Thomas Wintersbone, she forgives him.

Moon Tobin[]

As with all her brothers, Judy is close to Moon.

Honeybee Shaw[]

Judy is close with her sister-in law. In Avocado Barter Adventure Judy interviews Honeybee on her life in her hometown Fresno, California and how she met Judy’s eldest brother, Wolf.

Friends[]

Alanis Morissette[]

Judy often sits on the roof of her family’s home and talks to an imaginary Alanis Morissette in the sky made up of the northern lights. Alanis often gives Judy advice and listens to her stories.

Chrissy Carr[]

They become friends in Stools Rush in Adventure after competing for Steven Huang.

Kima Evanoff

Kima is Judy’s best friend and they share a lot in common.

Romances[]

Crispin[]

In season 1 on meeting him in the mall, Judy is attracted to Crispin but eventually gives up pursuing him realizing that he's interested in Ham.

Steven Huang[]

She pursued him in an earlier season.

Holden[]

Judy briefly dates Holden in Mall-mento Adventure before he breaks up with her through text. She has trouble accepting this at first, but later sees him flirting with another girl at the mall. Beef encourages her to get revenge and is seen driving Judy away from the mall after she throws a snowball at Holden.

Gill[]

Judy kissed Gill at the Fall Frenzy Dance because it was one of his wildest dreams, and the whole town of Lone Moose is known for making VERY bad decisions in the week leading up to, and the night of, the dance.

Gill has been depicted as having an interest in her in earlier and later episodes too, though she only sees him as a friend

Girls[]

Judy may be bisexual. While she has shown interest in at least four boys, as of Good Beef Hunting Adventure there are at least four separate occasions where she expresses an attraction to females:

  1. In Beef's Craig Beef Adventure, she remarked that Dusty and Londra and her crew looked "really impressive, intimidating, and kind of sexy" and said she would "file that away to explore later".
  2. In Stools Rush in Adventure, the subtext between Judy and Chrissy at the end of the episode could be read as romantic.

Trivia[]

  • Judy shares her voice actor with Tammy Larsen from Bob’s Burgers, another show produced by Bento Box Entertainment and 20th Television.
  • Unlike most characters in Loren Bouchard-related shows, Judy's upper row of teeth is visible whenever her mouth is open.
  • In For Whom the Smell Tolls: Part 1, it is revealed that Judy has Restless Legs Syndrome

Quotes[]

In Good Beef Hunting Adventure she has this exchange with her imaginary friend who lives in the northern lights, Alanis Morrissette:

  • Judy: "I have this system where I picture each of the words with boobs and a big round butt so I pay attention."
  • Alanis: "Yeah, nothing keeps your focus like boobs and butts."
  • Judy: "Oh I know!"
